What to do if a car is late, kept, or suspected stolen, and what not to do yourself.

If a car is not back, Nova Rides contacts the guest first when the issue is a late return. If the vehicle is not back within an hour, Nova Rides runs its recovery protocol. Suspected theft, unlawful retention, or an attempt to sell or transfer the car should be reported immediately.
- Report the problem to Nova Rides. Provide proof of ownership and the booking record when asked.
- Nova Rides reviews the tracking it holds, assesses the situation, and coordinates with recovery partners and authorities where that is appropriate.
- Do not chase the guest, use a private tracker, or attempt a dangerous recovery.
- Do not threaten anyone or try to immobilise the vehicle yourself.
- Any immobilisation or retrieval has to follow Nigerian law and Nova Rides security procedures.
