On the guest's checkout
- Rental subtotal: daily price times days.
- Service fee: about 15% of that subtotal. Some accounts have a waived or reduced guest fee. That waiver belongs to the guest's account, not to a cash deal.
- VAT at 7.5% on the taxable trip amount, which is the rental plus the service fee, minus any discount. The deposit and insurance are outside that VAT base.
- Security deposit: 25% of the rental subtotal, and at least one day's rate.
- Insurance, when Coronation prices it for that booking.
After the trip
The published schedule can charge a guest from the deposit for a late return (10% of the daily rate per hour after 30 minutes, capped at one day's rate), a fuel shortfall (15%, 30%, or 50% of the daily rate), excess mileage (2% of the daily rate per 10 km over the allowance), cleaning or smoking (25% of the daily rate), the exact toll or fine when you have evidence, and damage up to the deposit. The guest sees this schedule at checkout.
